The role

The Head of Media Performance will be responsible for driving a team of cross channel media specialists to deliver high quality and performance driven campaign work across a portfolio of clients. The Head of Media Performance works with the team to produce performance strategies and spend plans that maximise the yield of budgets and achieves the revenue objectives set per client / campaign. The Head of Media Performance is a forward thinker with performance, data, technology and team quality at the forefront of all thinking.

 

Responsibilities

  • Investment management: production of spend plans that break advertising spend down into media types, geographies, audiences, etc, to guide the digital marketing team in the execution of these campaigns.
  • Performance management: analyse the performance of advertising campaigns to ensure optimal spend allocation – increasing spend on high performing campaigns, and cutting spend on loss making campaigns.
  • Reporting management: production of reports that track the performance of campaign yield that help team members make data-driven and performance minded decisions.
  • Forecasting: accurately forecast spend required on campaign briefs
  • People management: collaborate with Head of Media in management of the paid media specialist team as well as growth management of team and team members
  • Innovation management: Working on product and campaign innovation to deliver world class work
  • Technology management: working with Tech and Digital Consultant in testing and on-boarding new media technologies, tech cost models and centralising all clients on technology to ensure data driven marketing
  • New clients: Working with client servicing team and other senior management to successfully onboard new clients
  • Lead Direct Deals and Media Owner relationships taking responsibility of Buying, Reporting & Vetting of Media Owners. This includes heading up a Direct Deals Committee
  • Lead Media Strategy team to ensure quality strategies are delivered (In the interim)

 

Skills And Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience for a minimum of 5 years within Google Adwords, Google Marketing Platforms and social platforms
  • Solid comprehension of media optimisation concepts and a strong sense for how and when campaign adjustments will affect performance outcomes
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in managing teams and driving quality quality work with minimal human error
  • Managing a portfolio of minimum 10 clients per month with more than 20 million ZAR media spend per month
  • Strong attention to detail and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to analyze and draw meaningful and actionable insights from data and finding new opportunities in data

 

Stakeholders

Direct reporting line is Head of Paid Media with strong collaboration with other senior management, design team, development team and other heads of department
